The Backlot Subcolony

Overview

The Backlot Subcolony refers to an area of The Treeline Colony, one of the most frequented subcolonies on the channel, featuring several friendly and interactive cats that Twitch has grown accustomed to. It originally started with cat Lockheed Martin X-59 QueSST, who Apoinsettia discovered while browsing the area. Knowing nothing about the cat, the cat showed a great deal of affection and introduced the other cats Domino and Calliope.

Since streaming the apparently large cat population, with most cats seemingly not wanting to interact with Apo, many of the cats here began to open up to him or become even more prominent.

The subcolony would have a new addition of cats known as The Trio (Buttery Boi, Raven, and Trixie) which refers to three related cats that were randomly dropped off. They were all unfixed and friendly, and have remained so after their TNR.

Apoinsettia, as usual, is not the only one who feeds here and had the chance to meet the local caretaker for the subcolony. Much is said about this caretaker and they have even appeared on a stream before. Regardless, there is a high amount of feeders that are unknown to the channel, some even discovered in Apoinsettia's streams. They have left several piles of dry food in bulk and in plates. Apo is known to feed only wet food in trays that are always thrown away into the trashcan component in the trunk, and only frequents at most once a week, often times less due to the heavy rain in the state. Two fans of the channel met with Apo as they also fed the same cats and were friendly, and have proven to the caretaker that they are also not the feeders and only care for a select few near their workplace. The new and high present food is believed to make matters worse as the business owners may become tired of the cat population and no longer allow feeding. Apo and the two others have openly not been involved in the large scale feeding, with Apo even staking out in hopes to observe who these feeders may be, but the three have been assumed to be a part of the issue.

Apo initially enjoyed the presence of the caretaker, but has since been told that much of his logic is poorly portrayed, going as far to say Apo should not refer to the cats as stray cats despite many sources saying cats that partake in a cat colony are still considered stray cats, and them hanging near each other does nothing to change the term, and has asked not to be referred to as a "feeder" but a caretaker. The constant critique that Apo has been eager to debate is always shut down as the caretaker does not want to discuss her rhetoric, which has been proven frustrating.

The subcolony went through a hiatus known as the Backlot Hiatus, the only hiatus known on the channel thus far. The hiatus was requested by the caretaker, which Apo stated would do little to nothing to combat the concerns and even go as far to make matters worse for the cats.

Since the Backlot Hiatus, more food has been left out by unknowns.
