Tempest
History and Lore
Tempest first became known to the channel at The Roundabout Colony along with siblings Acorn and Drizzle as well as mom DaisyMae after she had recently given birth to them as kittens no more than two months prior. It was particularly tense as they were quite young, small kittens and Hurricane Ian was forecast to make landfall in only a couple of days when they were discovered. With the rescue operation at home already at capacity including some with an outbreak of ringworm and a recently convalescing snowshoe siamese already relegated to the bathroom, space was scarce. Yet ensuring the health and safety of all the cats was a top priority. Apoinsettia was determined to rescue the kittens, returning the next night to trap them.
Tempest was the second of them to be trapped. Unlike Acorn, the first to be trapped without any food, Tempest took a little longer to trap. She and Drizzle were quite playfully climbing on the trap before she finally wandered in for food. A highlight video of the trapping was added to the Apoinsettia YouTube channel here.
Appearance
Tempest is a brown mackerel tabby and has a lighter face and more muted markings compared to her siblings.
