Saffron

From Apoinsettia

History and Lore

Saffron, despite not having a matching name, is one of the Powerpuff Kittens that were found in the Restaurant subcolony by a mother who has never been seen, and is believed to be gone. Although the Powerpuff Kittens were named with the three kittens on screen at once, in the background a calico with a more muted coloring could be seen in the background for a second, and would be Saffron as a kitten. Although some noticed the kittens presence in the livestream, it wasn't until Apoinsettia reviewed the footage that the kitten was identified to be a part of the same litter. She would be named by author Katie Roets as she wasn't named along with her siblings. The name Saffron was given to her before she would be trapped, but matches her personality quite well.

The Powerpuff Kittens would have a string of events, such as Blossom being fixed and returned to a separate colony as the restaurant at the time did not want the cats present, and Buttercup going missing, being the star of the four kittens. Bubbles would remain, and still does to this day alongside Saffron.

Saffron would be reported by a feeder as pregnant, to which Apo confirmed. Not long after, she had seemingly gotten much skinnier hinting that she had given birth. Apo and Cobalt Castaway decided to trap Saffron after the four kittens she would mother were found in a bush. The trapping process took the longest, reportedly over three hours, and even led to Saffron taking one of the two tabby kittens and running off, to which Cobalt found her again.

Saffron would eventually be trapped and brought back, placed in a large kitten crate with supplies available and begun to nurse her children. They would be named by Twitch Chat under Miso, Lrrr, Ruler of Planet Omnicron Persei 8, Riot, and Tilted Towers. Saffron would later take in two other kittens that were abandoned by their mother, and would be later named Four Cheese Pizza: Mozzarella, Ricotta, Brie and Parmesan and Pixie. This group of kittens would be known as The Spices, after their mother.

Saffron would quickly become and remain the most aggressive cat Apoinsettia has handled, both indoors and outdoors. Indoors, to handle the kittens Apo or Cobalt would have to wear protective gear to handle the kittens, and protect the kittens from being at the receiving end of any attack. Saffron did not respond to the multiple socialization techniques offered, and stands as a great example of how bringing stray cats indoors could be detrimental, and taking them to a shelter could have them euthanized, or the same amount of stress indoors.

When the kittens reached adolescence, they were separated from their mother as Saffron began to be seen hitting them more often, and being only weeks old they were defenseless. Now being weened onto wet food, the kittens were able to start being independent, and with no chance of Saffron being a domesticated cat, she would be fixed and returned to her home where she lives significantly more comfortable.

The Restaurant subcolony is often overlooked in an Alley stream, due to it's small size and most of the cats not wanting to make an appearance, but Apo still visits his old friend, to which Saffron hisses at him often, and has even been seen swiping at him and spitting through the leaves when food is left out, making her the only aggressive cat on the channel. Currently.

Personality

Saffron, as previously mentioned, is a very aggressive cat who has caused harm to people who have worked with her and at times even her own kittens, but somehow gets along incredibly well with her neighbors at The Restaurant Subcolony. She has been known to hiss, swat, spit, and climb the kitten crate to attack.

Appearance

Saffron is known for having the same lanky appearance that many siblings of hers possess, such as Pawdry Hepburn. This physique in these cats tends to have a long neck and skinny body. She is a calico, much like her sister Blossom, but instead of having bright vibrant colors, she had more muted and grey colors. She has striking green eyes.
