Protein Pod Subcolony
Subcolony Overview
The Protein Pod is a name used to describe a subcolony in The AutoShop Colony, which consists of primarily skittish cats, and rather difficult cats to get on camera, with the exception of some. In contrast to other subcolonies with clearly bonded groups and observed social hierarchies, the cats here appear more solitary and lacking in cohesion, rarely feeding more than one at a time.
The subcolony is named due to the majority of names in the subcolony being related to a protein food source, such as Beans and Tofu. This has some exceptions, however. Due to the predominantly elusive behavior of the cats at the subcolony, several still remain unnamed.
Surroundings
The subcolony lies on the border of a lake, with grass and shrub growing between the parking lot and the water. The road connects to a machine unit, whether it's used for air conditioning or power is unknown, but was where the protein pod was initially discovered. The machine is beyond a gate fence that isn't accessible, giving the cats separation from human interaction. Cats can still be seen here, and seem to prefer it when the machine is not activated. Notably, the nearby building is a shooting range and gunfire can frequently be heard during livestreams at this subcolony. The sound of gunfire does not seem to perturb the cats.
