Newcomers
The Newcomers refers to an anomaly on the channel in which several cats would be discovered in the Fence subcolony, a subcolony that was well looked after and fed for years, with Apoinsettia feeding for a year prior.
The Newcomers were likely the result of a "drop-off" which would be the first case of multiple cats being dropped off, especially in such bulk. They would earn their name "The Newcomers" as the colony had already featured several long term residents of cats, who would be dubbed "The Oldtimers" and would have difficulty interacting with the new members of the colony initially. It is worth noting that Rorschach would appear just a week prior to The Newcomers arrival, but is heavily believed to not be affiliated with them.
The date of which the Newcomers began to appear is difficult to trace; but is believed to be early 2020. Although Bella is considered to be the first Newcomer ever seen as Apoinsettia described seeing a new frizzy cat in the bushes one stream, it is more than likely Fleur, who was a kitten Apoinsettia had rescued from the fence that was likely a newcomer due to her size; deformities, and coloring.
Every Newcomer was not fixed; leading to frustrations and fears among the colony, and many of the Newcomers seemed to have deformities. Maradona and Mittens were likely kittens when first discovered, maybe even from the same litter as Fleur, but would not grow to be very large. Sadie and Blessed were both known for their eye issues, in which both sisters had blackened, wet eyes that were not functional.
The Newcomers are sadly, no longer active as of June 2022, with the disappearance of Gloves marking the end of the legacy, with all members either being rescued; deceased; or missing.
