Nazgul
History and Lore
Nazgul, whose full name is The Witch-King of Angmar, Lord of the Nazgul, is a cat that would emerge as a more prominent character in the latter half of the The AutoShop Colony streams. Though perhaps initially overshadowed by the friendly personalities of Icecap and Carbon who share the subcolony, Nazgul presented a very unique and complex personality in contrast.
Nazgul's naming was from moderator Peppperjam. Having been granted a "name-a-cat coupon", he would redeem it on this mischievous and arguably sinister cat. The name is derived from the leader of the Ringwraiths in J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of The Rings.
In December 2022, an all black kitten of around 8 weeks old was found alongside Nazgul. It very well could be a child belonging to Nazgul that predated his being neutered. However, Nazgul, in his temperamental nature, seemingly antagonized the kitten, hissing and charging at it. So, there is some speculation that this may be due to them not being related.
Personality
A highly unpredictable and volatile cat, Nazgul's attitude seemingly changes instantaneously. He is a very vocal cat, seeming to want to gain attention. Nazgul doesn't seem particularly shy, but is very wary of contact and may keep a distance or show aggressive behavior when his boundaries are crossed. Understanding the boundaries is what proves to be rather difficult. Historically, Nazgul has shown the tell-tale signs of being friendly, approaching Apoinsettia meowing with his tail straight up, only to hiss at or even attempt to bite him on one occasion. For these reasons, Nazgul may be the most feared cat on the channel. He has been observed stalking and menacing Apoinsettia and can be combative with other cats.
It has been noted that Nazgul is very nip-reactive. He will actively seek out nip, and has even jumped into Apoinsettia's trunk for it from his first appearance on stream. Catnip seemingly makes Nazgul even more unhinged and he's even swatted at Apoinsettia while under the influence.
Appearance
Nazgul is a medium haired all-black cat with pale green eyes. His tail is notably fluffy and longhaired.
