Leo
History and Lore
Leo was a cat at The Hotel Subcolony and while only known to the channel for a few months, made a notable impression. This senior cat had a striking lion-like appearance being a longhaired brown tabby.
In the time Leo appeared on stream, it was clear that he was advanced in age and his health was somewhat precarious. He was found to have no teeth left and his senses seemed to be diminished. Great care was taken by the regular subcolony feeder, known as Feeder A, in always keeping a close eye on his health, ensuring he had food that he could continue to eat in spite of not having his teeth. In some cases, she discovered she needed to encourage or even trick him into eating.
Sadly, news came from Feeder A that after Leo's health had further declined and was no longer strong enough to eat, she took him in to be humanely put to sleep. Her message to Apo read "On 10/12/2022, 16 year old Leo, at 4.6 pounds, with no teeth, and severe malnutrition, was too weak to continue to eat any longer. I petted him and comforted him for a long while and he was petted as he was anesthetized. I couldn't let his suffering continue." Additionally, she thanked Apoinsettia for the support, food, and encouragement as it surely helped to keep Leo going much longer.
Personality
Leo was a friendly and very vocal cat. He seemed to welcome being pet and to be very human-oriented.
Appearance
Leo was a longhaired brown tabby. His appearance, as mentioned, gave a very lion-like impression, for which Feeder A named him "Leo". Being a cat advanced in years, his age showed and it was clear that he had some issues in maintaining his coat, giving him a bit of a scraggly appearance that added to his wild, lionesque charm.
