The cat known informally as Ice Cream Sandwich has a hotly contested name. At the time, he was named in a Twitch chat poll following his brother Omen. One faction of the chat advocated for the name Prophecy to be thematic with Omen. Meanwhile, a rival group favored naming him Ice Cream Sandwich. The poll was too close to call, with new factions emerging and favoring alternatives, the most popular being an amalgamation: The Ice Cream Prophecy. Ultimately, no formal, definitive name was decided.
Ice Cream Sandwich's origins are from a litter of kittens that were happened upon by chance in an area at the The Treeline Colony on May 9, 2022, appearing from a fenced parking area alongside a drainage ditch.
Although intending to trap and rescue the kittens in the area, several previously unknown cats emerged. Apo attempted to drive the adult cats away with catnip, yet it only seemed to draw out even more adults while the kittens eluded capture. Inevitably, Boo, the presumed mother of the kittens, entered the trap and was caught in their place. This marked the first time a cat had been trapped live on stream.
Along with his sibling Omen, Ice Cream Sandwich was subsequently captured, taken in, and fostered by Apo. The other kittens from the litter were trapped by another community rescue. Ice Cream Sandwich quickly would be adopted and find a home.
