Hopscotch
History and Lore
Hopscotch would first become known to the channel in late Summer 2022 at the The Hideaway Subcolony when he appeared on rare occasion among several new kittens who looked to be about 4 months old at the first encounter. He remained very much in the background, while the most prominent among them would be his sister Baby Stanley.
In early November, his siblings had noticeably been TNRed, having the distinguishable notches on their ears. He on the other hand was clearly missing the ear notch and seemed to be limping with an injury to his hind leg. Lured out with food for a closer inspection, it was clear that the injury was significant and was going to require intervention.
Apoinsettia decided to end the live stream and devote his attention to trapping the injured kitten. Having successfully done so, the following stream was to raise funds for the surgery that would be needed. It was clear that the leg could not be saved and would require amputation as bone was protruding and it was badly infected. A local nonprofit clinic would be carrying out the procedure at a very affordable rate and although the goal was set at $800, the community would send donations amounting well beyond the goal at $1800 to ensure all expenses would be afforded for the care and rehabilitation.
Following the successful procedure, donors in the fundraiser submitted name suggestions that would all be voted on by Twitch chat in a bracket-style naming poll tournament. In the end, Hopscotch, the name submitted by moderator Peppperjam, would be the favorite over Trilogy which had also made it to the final poll.
About a week following the amputation procedure, the day after Thanksgiving, some of the sutures had not healed well and had begun to open up. Hopscotch would be taken again for medical attention and found to have some necrotic tissue. He has since recovered and is getting along well.
At the time when Hopscotch was trapped, contact with office workers at the property provided interesting information regarding the cats at the subcolony. They referred to Hopscotch by the name "JJ" which was short for "Jakey Junior". This name was an homage to Baboushka, whom they referred to as "Jakey" and informed had recently passed away due to old age and failing health.

Personality
Although initially presumed to be quite feral and shy when first encountered, and evading trapping attempts by the property owners at The Hideaway, Hopscotch proved to be quite the contrary. Prior to, during, and after the entire ordeal, he was incredibly friendly, calm, and cooperative.
Appearance
Most distinguishing about Hopscotch is that he is three-legged, after having one leg amputated. He is a grey tabby with white covering the lower half of his face and underside. He was not trapped and neutered along with his siblings and therefore does not have an ear notch.
