Free Fall
History and Lore
Free Fall is one of the few non-feline animals to be a notable stream member. During the live stream at The Nursery Subcolony on July 15, 2023, what was otherwise a normal Satursday stream took a sudden turn. Apoinsettia, hearing noises among the three tops of some coconut palms, looked up to see a raccoon. Upon closer inspection, there were babies as well. Shortly thereafter, one was precariously dangling from the treetop before plummeting to the ground. Apoinsettia would then intervene to check on what was a neonatal baby, with eyes not yet opened and largely immobile. He would take the baby raccoon to a wildlife sanctuary where they would give him a clean bill of health and care for him.
Several members of the chat protested the intervention, recommending that Free Fall be left alone for the mother to retrieve him. However, with the significance of the fall posing a risk for injury coupled with the likelihood of falling again, the best option to ensure the raccoon's wellbeing was to place it in the hands of professionals.
