Forrest Grump
History and Lore
Forrest Grump is known to be perhaps the most wild and aggressive cat on the entire channel. When a new area of The Alley Colony began to be visited known as The Hedges Subcolony, he would stand out for his unbridled, savage behavior. At first this was believed to be a consequence of him asserting dominance as an unneutered male, yet eventually he would be TNRed (trapped, neutered, and returned) and still exhibited the same aggression. His comically aggressive nature has made him somewhat of an anti-hero and fan favorite on the channel.
After being a staple of the channel for a few months, in October 2022, a naming poll would ensue that proved to be one of the most controversial. The name "Forrest Grump" would win, with the name being contributed by longtime viewer Tinkermaid. However, many showed discontent for being a pun name, which are generally frowned upon on the channel, as well as "grump" vastly understating his fully unhinged demeanor. A growing faction wanted to ironically name him "Sweetie Pie" which garnered support from Apoinsettia. Immediately following, Julos55 redeemed channel points for a repoll, to which Apoinsettia agreed would be conducted on the next visit. However, Julos55 attempted to cancel his repoll in order to try to redeem a "name-a-cat coupon" and name the cat outright by bypassing a poll which created confusion with Apoinsettia, thinking it had been canceled and the naming had been settled. In the end, weeks went by and turned into months, yet a repoll was never carried out while Apoinsettia continued to wait for Julos55 to be present amidst his spotty attendance. Meanwhile, Apoinsettia had habitually begun to refer to and reinforce the name Forrest Grump and it was decided that the name would be made canon.
To everyone's great surprise, in November 2022, kittens were spotted at The Hedges. First, a tuxedo kitten was captured, which appeared uncannily as a miniature version of Forrest Grump in appearance. This female kitten was extremely vocal, earning her the monicker Chatterbox. The following night, two more female kittens were captured and rescued, another tuxedo who would be named Shiver and an all black kitten, Fidget. Due to the striking resemblance between the kittens and Forrest Grump (notably Chatterbox and Shiver), they are all believed to be his daughters in spite of being found after his being neutered, with the timeline adding up perfectly. The kittens would all be referred to as The Saplings, a play on the name Forrest. This would also make Forrest the first ever confirmed father on the channel as a mediumhair length is quite rare, and there are no other tuxedos in the area.
Personality
Forrest Grump is quite possibly demented. He is known to show a great deal of aggression, growling, hissing, and charging at humans and other cats alike. It was speculated that his behavior might change after being neutered, yet he has consistently remained the same violent spectacle on the channel.
Since Forrest is widely considered to be the "angriest cat" on the entire channel; it's been noted how he displays this aggression not only to Apoinsettia but to toys and other cats. In fact, Forrest can be seen running into the treeline to scare or fight another cat for seemingly no reason, a trait that no other cat on the entirety of the channel presents.
Appearance
A stocky black and white tuxedo, one look from Forrest Grump let's you know he's ready for business even before he growls, hisses, or slaps you into another dimension. He has pale green eyes, long white whiskers, and the puffy cheeks, or stud jowls, of a full grown male. He also has a notch on his left ear indicating he's been neutered.
