Fleababies

Overview

The Fleababies refers to three kittens born to their mother Tarantula. The litter of kittens would be found in the middle of a Twitch stream within the Alley colonies, where their mother was nursing them on a ramp. The kittens would scatter once approached by Apoinsettia and Apo would attempt to trap the kittens within short time.

Apoinsettia would enter the grated abandoned storage that the kittens were located in; and would have little luck finding the kittens except for the orange one underneath shopping carts. Cobalt would follow and promptly leave after mentioning the high population of fleas that were targeting them. When Apo noticed, he could see the fleas on him and vacated the area after an unsuccessful session of trapping. The fleas within the area would worry Apo more due to the fact that fleas on kittens as young as them, especially in high amounts, can be fatal to kittens and cause Flea-bite anemia. If Apo was being targeted after being in the crate for a series of minutes, it's likely the kittens are suffering from a nasty flea infestation.

Apo, early in the trapping experience, would trap their kittens mother Tarantula and hold her for a 48 hour period before returning her.

Apo would return shortly trying the same method after the pressure plate had failed to trap the grey and white one, due to the kittens being so young and light that they didn't set off the pressure plate that would trigger the trap. This would happen the same day with the beige kitten, who would also enter the trap and have their paw on the plate without it activating. This would understandably frustrate Apo.

It would take several nights, with even one of those nights being the Fourth of July, in which Apo recalled seeing the fireworks from the colony while trapping.

The trap was ineffective, due to the plate needing a kitten or cat that weighed more. It was intentionally geared that way, but another feeder had a lighter and smaller trap that they had no longer wanted and gave to Apoinsettia in hopes it would catch the kittens. Within the same night, the gray and white kitten would enter the trap and be captured, and brought back, where they reportedly had fleas swarming around their eyes.

It was revealed that the main reason the trapping was difficult was due to a feeder within the area, widely regarded by Apo and fans as the main caretaker of the colony, was leaving food out for the kittens prior to Apo trapping despite Apo informing them he was trapping, leading to frustration between the two. The same day the caretaker was approached by all the other caretakers of the colony to not feed, Apo was able to catch the other two kittens that were out.

The kittens would all be bathed immediately, and when fecal tests were run by the rescue, it was revealed that they possessed hookworm, another life-threatening situation that could cause anemia in the kittens. The kittens having fleas and hookworms target their blood supply at a young age and surviving is considered a miracle on the channel.

Apo would seek medication after the trapping experience and had gotten quite sick after over one hundred flea bites primarily targeted on his angle, and contracted Ringworm, most likely from the kittens, but was misdiagnosed as another flea bite. This would be the first time, and currently only time Apo would contract something from a cat or rescue on the channel.

Twitch would name the first grey and white kitten, who was already social Berbette, the beige kitten would be named I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, and the torbie would be named Doxycycline, which intentionally was one of the medications prescribed to Apo for their high amount of flea bites.

Sadly, a fourth tabby that was seen with the kittens was never rescued. He was only seen once by Apo during a night trapping and twice by a feeder where the kitten was notably smaller than the others, and primarily stuck with Doxycycline. The kitten is theorized to still be alive as the other three miraculously survived, and roams in the crate with their mother or at night. Apo believes the kitten had passed away, due to the fact that the remaining three Fleababies surviving is a miracle already.
