Cream
History and Lore
Cream is considered one of the most important and pivotal cats on the channel, and openly one of Apoinsettia's favorite rescues.
Cream was discovered in mid-2020 behind an auto repair place that Apoinsettia jokingly told a friend would be the perfect place for cats to live. Cream would be accompanied by his mother Peony and his sister Cookies. After feeding them a few times, Apoinsettia figured the cats were young enough to be rescued and socialized, and further went on to the trap the pair, with Cream being the first to be trapped. Apoinsettia had left food in a carrier and simply shut the door behind him, and followed by bringing Cream home to which Cream was aggressive. He would hiss and swat at Apoinsettia understandably so. His whole life had changed, and was now in a small indoor environment with a human being he knew little about.
Apoinsettia would leave and return with Cookies, hoping to rescue the two as a pair. He had only rescued one cat before, Penny, which had originally been planned as a TNR mission before Penny would be sweet indoors, but had only stayed for one night. Cookies and Cream would both hiss at Apoinsettia when re-introduced to each other. Apoinsettia would stream the pair to twitch as his first indoor rescue stream. He would then perform a series of socialization techniques. Within the next day, a fellow feeder would visit them and would help Apoinsettia gain access to a playpen after giving recommendations on how to help the kitten pair.
The playpen was set up in Apoinsettia's room so the kittens would be used to his constant presence. Both kittens were not thrilled, with Cookies being very vocal and Cream often trying to jump to the roof of the playpen causing it to collapse on itself, repeatedly. At some point Apoinsettia let the kittens roam around in his room which the pair seemed to prefer.
Cookies would be the first of the two kittens that would happen, and although Cream didn't act aggressive, he would still give a hiss. Cream would eventually begin to lean into a petting motion suddenly, which would start his process of opening up. Although Cookies was portrayed as the sweeter of the two for some time, Cream would be revealed as the loving affectionate type within no time. He would purr often, and enjoyed sitting and sleeping on Apoinsettia at night. He began to feel much more confident in playing with his sister.
Cream would go as far to be so affectionate, Apoinsettia desired to keep him, begging his parents to consider the idea, as he had cared for the kitten. Due to the recent adoption of Soka, his sister's personal cat, Apoinsettia would be declined. Regardless, Apoinsettia wanted to find the pair a proper loving home. He would go through an organization his father had adopted a cat from before, and upon taking them in, they were returned for an extra week for their vaccine's that Apoinsettia was grateful for.
The time had come to take the kittens to the shelter which Apoinsettia had helped them out. After they were taken in, Apoinsettia went to a deep depressive state he had openly talked about in which he also didn't stream or contact his community for a short term period. Although his disappearance was short, his depressive state would remain for a long time.
Until one day, close to two months later where he had pondered for the kittens well being every day since, he was told that the kittens were at the shelter. Apoinsettia would revisit the pair, as they were slightly older and larger, and spend close to everyday he could spending time with them and also hoping to meet whoever would adopted them. It would not take long before that they would find a home, to which the adoption lady Apoinsettia kept in contact with stated it was a lovely couple who had recently lost a joint pair of cats within time of each other. They owned a large property which an outdoor patio, and the adoption lady described to Apoinsettia that it was practically a mansion.
This would end the joint pair rescue of Cookies and Cream, and would spark Apoinsettia to further help rescue Milkshake, their older sister, Peony and her babies The Flowers. They are both together to this day and Apoinsettia hopes to one day reunite with them.
Personality
Cream, although initially aggressive, had turned out to be a sweet loving cat and more
affectionate than his sister. Although it took longer for him to open up and reveal this side of him, it was considerably worth the process. He often purred, and enjoyed sharing a lap cat personality to him, often sitting on Apoinsettia or sleeping on him.
Cream hated to be left alone, and possibly had separation anxiety. He would meow wildly and throw a fit often running or trying to open the door on his own if he had no one around, which was not good mixed with Cookie's love to explore and curiousity.
Appearance
Cream had a marbled pattern to his fur, earning him the name Cream as his swirls resembled a creamy appearance. He had softer fur and a softer appearance compared to his sister, who had spots on her fur and a more panther like appearance. Both kittens were around the same size.
