From Apoinsettia

History and Lore

Cookies would be the first kitten Apoinsettia would see run up directly to his car while he was searching the area as he joked with a friend it would be a good place for cats to live, to which he would be proven true. He would visit the kitten, to which she would be accompanied by her mother, Peony and her brother, Cream. Cookies would be the most approachable out of the three and after three separate feeding times, Apoinsettia would be able to pet her, to which he could not pet Cream.

It would not be long before Apoinsettia would make an attempt to take in the kittens for a chance at a better life. Although Cream would be taken in first, Cookies would be the next to be taken in via a carrier within the hour. Both of them being together calmed them down, and although Cream was significantly more aggressive, Cookies gave the occasional hiss as a warning sign.

Cookies would be the first out of two to display signs of being affectionate after she and her brother would be let out of a playpen that Apoinsettia had in his room, being told by a fellow fosterer to have the kittens get used to constant presence. He felt comfortable enough letting the kittens roam around the room, which within a few days Cookies would make biscuits, purr, and jump into Apoinsettia for affection and attention. She enjoyed making biscuits often, and jumping into pets.

Cookies would be far more advanced in her attitude than her brother early, and as time went on and Cream began to show signs of being socialized, she enjoyed free roaming and wandering around the house, which contrasted her brother always wanting to be around someone and never wanting to be left alone. They both enjoyed playing with each other often.

The rescue would take over 32 days to perfect and was within a few months of the COVID-19 pandemic, where shelters and rescues were packed or not offering further services, which led Apoinsettia to work with a shelter that his father adopted a cat before. He described surrendering Cookies and Cream, his first socialization case and first kittens ever rescued, was the hardest process he had lived through and had been in a depressive and morbid state for weeks to follow. This was furthered by the fact Apoinsettia had bonded heavily with Cream.

Several weeks later Apoinsettia would get a text from the rescue that Cookies and Cream were in a joint cage and on the floor for adoption and he met with them personally. He had gone to visit them several times over the course of their stay before he had gotten a text from the shelter owner that Cookies and Cream went to an older couple that had recently lost their cat. The cat they lost came from a jointed pair, and now Cookies and Cream would share the new house together with an outdoor patio they both relish in with the shelter lady describing it as a "Mansion" for the two kittens.

It would serve as a perfect ending to Apoinsettia's experience with them, and he hopes to meet them again one day.

Personality

Cookies would be the friendlier kitty from the start, as she would approach anyone outdoors and was even able to be pet on the street. She had a short phase in which she was upset understandably in her new environment, but had broken out of her behavior quickly, and was the quickest to be socialized. She made biscuits often and enjoyed spending time with her brother, whether sleeping near him or fighting him.

Appearance

Cookies was named due to her circular pattern on his tabby fur, symbolizing cookies, and matches with Cream's namesake, and even her older sister Milkshake. The only other cat that she would be related to that have a similar pattern would be her younger sister Lilac.

Cookies has a more jaguar or panther like appearance, compared to her brothers softer appearance.
