Blackie
History and Lore
Blackie, also known as Pepper by their feeder (not to be confused with Pepper; the mother of Fay) was a senior stray cat that lived in the smallest subcolony on the channel called Fort Blackie; named after it solely being home to Blackie. This subcolony homes another cat that the feeder names Salt due to their all white appearance, but is much more skittish. The two are said to be related.
Blackie was described as one of the most interesting cats on the channel as when discovered by Apoinsettia, they had their own private hut, water bowl, and food with a note attached. The note read as followed:
Apoinsettia would share this discovery on the Tiktok platform that would circulate around so much that the feeder of Blackie would recognize them immediately and comment and share all about the cat, such as that Blackie was once fed by a nurse who had gotten old and frail back in 2005; so the feeder had gone out to sit with Blackie on his lunch breaks and talk to him.
The feeder would make efforts to get Blackie home, but would prove unsuccessful. The feeder also confirms that it was them who had wrote the note, and that Blackie would actually sleep inside the nearby warehouse as they made a small entrance for him to enter.
Blackie would pass some time ago; not long after Apoinsettia had initially met them, but had no idea since Apoinsettia hadn't had time to visit the roundabout as he was moving in a hurry. The feeder states Blackie is buried in the subcolony with their biological mother. The feeder would say they were happy Blackie got to know love and care before their passing, and that they would be memorialized online.
Personality
Blackie was described by their calm demeanor. Upon their initial appearance, in which Apo met with the cat outside of a stream, Blackie was not shy or friendly, and instead had a neutral attitude. Blackie was curious and was able to be pet and interacted with, but didn't seem affectionate. They were very slow moving, and very observant. They still enjoy moving around, and is believed to enjoy their time spent with people.
Appearance
Blackie was a medium black cat, which is more prone to heat concerns that other cats, especially in the summer. This may be the reason for the water bowl immediately outside their hut. Some portions of their skin have been sun-bleached to a dark brown color, which is shades lighter than her initial black appearance. They have deep green-yellow eyes.
