Berlioz

From Apoinsettia

History and Lore

It was one night when Apoinsettia and Cobalt Castaway ventured to the Fence subcolony much later than usual that the silhouette of a kitten could be seen. This kitten would be later named Berlioz by a random roulette option, in which fellow streamer haileyinwonderland won, naming the kitten after one of the Aristocats.

Berlioz was easy to catch as Apo didn't need a trap. Instead, a carrier with food was left out and Berlioz walked inside, to which Apo shut the door behind him. A blanket was used to cover the carrier's openings that Apo was across from, and his iconic slides were removed to not make any noise when approaching the carrier. This approach has been used by Apoinsettia to catch other rescues, such as Fleur.

Berlioz was not hostile or defensive at all and did not need socialization at all during his rescue. He was present during the rescues of Maple and The Spices, as his rescue was much longer than normal. This is due to the shelter that Apo works with suspecting Berlioz of having ringworm, with signs such as missing patches of fur. He would need treatment which primarily consisted of sulfur solutions that left Berlioz smelling of rotten eggs. Within a short period after, he was taken to the shelter and subsequently adopted.

This would be Kitcrew Rescue's first experience with ringworm treatments, which would make a strong come back much later with the Fleababies.

Personality

On the drive back, Berlioz did not let out a single word, but as time passed and he became more friendly. He became vocal, and rather unfriendly with the other rescues he was with. He was trained to enjoy the presence of dogs which helped him in his adoption.

Appearance

Berlioz was an all black cat presenting a small flicker of white on his chest. This is common in appearance with Samantha and Salem who also live in the alley colony just down the road. No other kittens have been found, and no other black cat is known at the Fence subcolony so Berlioz and his presence on the channel is completely unknown. Some have theorized that Purrito was pregnant before her dissappearance, and may have been the mother to Berlioz, but this is unconfirmed.

It's possible that, similar to Pawdry Hepburn, Berlioz wandered around in the Alley and stayed at the Fence subcolony despite having family elsewhere. This leads questions as to where Berlioz came from, and if there is an unspayed mother to watch out for.

Berlioz is known for his half-tail, which although labels him as a manx kitten, most manx kittens have nubs rather than full tails, leaving Berlioz to have a tail that only grew to half length.
