Berbette

From Apoinsettia

History and Lore

Berbette is the friendliest member of the Fleababies; a group of kittens that were heavily infested with fleas that took a prolonged period of time to trap. Berbette would be the first of these kittens to be trapped of the three just days after she had stepped inside the large pressure plate trap without setting it off. Berbette would return to a pressure plate trap geared towards kittens of their size with the trapping finally a success.

Berbette is named after the beloved Berber; who would go missing a month before the discovery of the kittens. Both cats display very similar color patterns, leading to theories that Berbette could have some sort of family relation to Berber. The only way this would make sense is if Berbette's mother, Tarantula, or unknown father was a sibling of Berber as Berber has been neutered for his entire appearance on the channel and dismisses any potential for Berber to be Berbette's biological father. However, it is entirely possible there is some other familial connection between the two.

Berbette would suffer the most skin issues, either from Flea Dermatitis or Ringworm which persisted through her time in the rescue room.

In mid-February, Berbette would appear lethargic and not appear to be her normal self. She was rushed by Apoinsettia to the hospital and no particular diagnosis was determined. Her health issue was severe and she would not recover. Though she wasn't the healthiest cat in her short life, she had largely overcome the odds to grow into adolescence and seemed to be thriving. The passing was rather sudden and she will be deeply missed as an incredibly sweet and loving cat.

Personality

Berbette would be the first of the three kittens to be socialized, requiring no special work or any breakthrough process. She is extremely vocal and not as curious as her siblings who enjoy wandering the room.

Appearance

Berbette is mostly grey with a white bib. As previously mentioned, Berbette displays a similar range of colors as her namesake, Berber. She is also described to have the same thick and short fur that Berber had, although she has had a long bout of an unknown source of dermatitis which has led to the loss of fur in some areas.
