Apoinsettia Theory Iceberg
Overview
The Apoinsettia Theory Iceberg refers to the many theories that circulate the channel, addressing each and every current theory regardless of it being comical or sincere. It follows the common trope of Iceberg memes online.
Tier 1
Forrest and the Saplings - In which a series of kittens would be found in the Hedges subcolony. Two of these kittens, Chatterbox and Shiver, are mediumhair tuxedo cats, similar to Forrest Grump, the only tuxedo cat in the area and one of the few mediumhairs on the channel. The kittens being around 6-8 weeks old at the point of discovery match up to the fact Forrest was neutered only a few months earlier, thus stating that Forrest is the father of the kitten pair.
Tyrone = Picasso - In which an old regular on the channel named Tyrone would appear at the streetlight colony and often rough house the other cats in the name of food. His attitude towards the others established a sense of dominance but as if he was a stranger and did not know the other cats at the subcolony. Across the street, a cat by the name of Picasso would appear and have a similar resemblance to Tyrone. It would be confirmed that the two cats were the same after Apoinsettia would see Picasso cross the street to the other colony, which is atypical for cats on the channel. This is one of the oldest theories on the channel.
Sunshine Is Someone's Pet - In which the cat Sunshine was suspected the be considered a pet of someone in the nearby neighborhood. This would be confirmed when Apoinsettia would be recording and meet the owner of Sunshine who insisted the dogs in the house didn't like him and he had grown up outside, and they consider him their own cat.
Dawn and Sunset Were Related - In which the cats Dawn and Sunset were believed to have some sort of familial connection, due to them both being a bonded pair and acting similarly with very unique traits. Furthermore, they were both considered the most colorful out of the cats in the Bushes subcolony. This would be confirmed when the business owner of the Bushes shared that Dawn is the mother of Sunset. Although there is speculation where Dawn is truly Sunset's mother or not, the theory is confirmed that the two are related directly, although most cats on the channel likely have family ties to one another.
Blaze Is A Drop Off - In which it was believed that the new friendly orange cat Blaze that would appear as a neutered male with no ear notch was once someone's pet as it is atypical for cats to not have the proper ear notch when fixed as a stray. This would be confirmed when Apoinsettia would discovered a microchip in Blaze that yielded no results.
Tier 2
Fleur Was the First Newcomer - In which it was suspected that the new kitten Fleur in the Alley colony was, in hindsight, the first to appear out of a large group of new cats that would randomly appear in bulk, known as the Newcomers. Although it is also believed that Bella was the first to be "seen" by Apoinsettia, Fleur is likely the first to approach and eat, which would eventually lead to her being rescued.
Jazz Is A Girl - In which a cat by the name of Jazz is believed to be a female orange cat, which is atypical for orange cats. Although Jazz was fed for years before, confirmation of the cats gender has never occurred thus leading Marigold to be the first confirmed fully orange girl on the channel.
Jamper Is A Drop Off - In which a new tabby cat by the name of Jamper would appear in a subcolony within the Roundabout colonies. Much like Blaze, Jamper would have no ear notch despite being a neutered male and is very friendly and vocal. However, Jamper does not seem to have the same microchip as Blaze leading to little speculation of his origins. Despite this one missing feature that results in a confirmation of his past, it is widely believed by many Jamper was originally someone's pet.
Munchkin Lives - In which Munchkin, the smallest cat on the channel, disappeared in late 2022. This theory states Munchkin is most likely okay, due to Munchkin once disappearing before in 2021 and not returning for around 4 to 6 months. This has also happened to Tortellini who has disappeared and returned in a similar fashion. This theory also believes that Munchkin is likely to return.
Nazgul Is A Father - In which the aggressive cat Nazgul is heavily believed to be the father of Lil Naz X, a new longhair black kitten that has appeared in the area. There is heavy speculation as Lil Naz has deeper orange eyes and one of the fluffiest tails on the channel, whilst Nazgul presents more as a mediumhair. It is unclear whether Nazgul was neutered when first met by Apo, but Lil Naz is an older kitten around 5 to 6 months around the time of their discovery, leading to untraceable information.
Momscotch - In which a cat that has been nicknamed "Momscotch" is believed to be the mother of Hopscotch, primarily due to their striking resemblance and Momscotch seemingly not being fixed. She would appear around the same time Hopscotch and his other siblings would.
Icecap Got Adopted - In which Icecap, one of the most popular cats on the channel despite his short timeline, would disappear due to someone else in the area taking him home as he was a friendly cat, and a handsome lynxpoint siamese cat which is a rarity.
This theory would actually have more information to add when the business owners of the subcolony would reach out to Apoinsettia after seeing Icecap on tiktok, asking if he had any information concerning where Icecap went. The business owners stated they missed him, a feeling Apoinsettia and the community share. Furthermore, they state that one of the leasers in the plaza who enjoyed Icecap moved to another city, and may have taken Icecap with him.
Tier 3
Gloves Lives - In which the last of the Newcomers by the name of Gloves would disappear. Although many cats go missing on the channel, Gloves seemed distraught and lonely after the passing of Blessed who they often spent with. Other feeders shared the story that Gloves was seemingly wandering farther and farther from the Fence subcolony, with someone speculating Gloves simply left. It is unclear where they would go to, but the theory suggests Gloves is well in their isolation. It is not expected for them to return.
Pop Tux Diaspora Theory - In which the adventurous Pop Tux has been seen frequently two colonies such as the Straightaway and the Loop, making him a rare type of cat that adheres to multiple subcolonies in one day. This theory suggests that one day, Pop Tux will be seen in both colonies in a single day, but has yet to happen.
Hopscotch Leg Culprit - In which many people speculate over what led to the kitten Hopscotch to lose his leg. Some suggest that it may have been a raccoon, which have been seen in the area and antagonize the cats in the Hideaway subcolony. Others have suggested it may be another cat as Hopscotch was new and some of the cats there did not take well to his sudden apperance along with his siblings, but this is less believed as there was a lot of time for the cats to slowly accept Hopscotch before his injury. Others thought of an accident with some of the structures nearby, which may be disproven by the circular wound in his thigh like an incisor from a bite, but he did have bone exposed close to his foot. To this day, it is accepted that the community may never know what happened to create such an injury, but look forward to the long life the cat has ahead of him.
Vera Is Rorschach's Daughter - In which the kitten Vera bears an interesting resemblance to Rorschach, who at some point was not neutered upon his arrival of the fence colony.
Snow Leopard Lives - Perhaps one of the most talked about theories by Apoinsettia himself, this theory refers to the displacement of the family trio Storm, Guyliner, and Snow Leopard after their home would be torn down for construction purposes. Storm would relocate to the Tirehold, and Guyliner would relocate to the Corner occasionally stopping by to where Aurora lives. Snow Leopard would never be accounted for after this day (sometime around March 2022) and has raised speculation about his whereabouts.
Some have suggested that he may be fine in an undiscovered location due to his family members both being fine after they left their homes, and that Snow Leopard lives. The counter theory is that Snow Leopard could not adapt and passed away. This counter theory has credibility as a feeder that Apo refers to as "Feeder G" shared that they found tufts of white and grey fur by what was once the Lakeside subcolony. This subcolony has a tendency to have an owner of a nearby marina to let his dogs loose for security purposes. Feeder G suggests it was a "strong match" to which Apo suggested that it may have been another longhair white and grey cat that showed up in the nearby Straightaway, which also seemingly disappeared. (This unnamed cat is also believed to be Dadscotch, in the hideaway, despite the incredibly far distance between the subcolonies. Dadscotch is still alive, which would disproved Apoinsettia's theory.)
Berber Exodus - In which the fan-favorite cat Berber disappeared due to him sneaking into one of the nearby Uhaul trucks and may have been stuck in the rear as it took off to another location. Beber was known to wander to the Uhaul before his disappearance, but it is also known many other cats in the area have gone missing fueling a "Hidden Colony" theory
Tier 4
Beans Imposter - One of the most fun theories, according to Apoinsettia, in which the cat Beans (a cat that was one of the original autoshop cats to be fed since the 2020 pandemic) would go missing for just under a year. Since Apo had been able to make longer Autoshop streams, a new tuxedo appeared that many people believe is the same Beans, despite Apoinsettia being unsure. One reason that makes Apo unsure is the fact the new tuxedo cat has no ear notch, with others actually suggested the original Beans had no ear notch as well. It is widely believed by the community this is Beans.
Amber Lives - In which one of the original cats in the Warehouses dating back to 2020 would seemingly disappear. Several cats once known as Mimsie, Jack, and Finnegan have disappeared here leading to wonder where the cats have gone. However, friend of the channel Nortoh would Apoinsettia to a new clearing that has since been under construction. This clearing showed that there were several cats in this open field, one being a white and orange cat that Apo thought was the missing cat, Amber.
The Last Vladevich - In which the kitten Alexei Vladevich is heavily believed to be some sort of family relative of either the illusive Vlad, or the tragic Mikhail. This is primarily due to the kitten being a Russian Blue, just like the formerly listed cats who were both unneutered. Althought they may be Alexei's father, there is theory to say they are a sibling or uncle of The Last Vladevich since Alexei's mother was Bella was also a Newcomer like Vlad and Mikhail and may have been a sister. Apo considers this one of his favorite theories as in some sort of fashion, it means at least one of the Russian Blues made it out of the fence subcolony when so many would vanish or pass away, letting the Vladevich name live on.
Hidden Alley Colony - In which it is believed there is another unknown cat colony by the Trucks subcolony. This theory initially started due to the cat Pootis appearing in the subcolony after being missing for months, and would go missing again after just three weeks. Since then, Salem, Blossom, Nocturne and even Berber would vanish from the area, leading theory that they simply found a better home, although Nocturne is known to leave subcolonies quickly as he once lived in the Fence and the Transformer colonies west of the Trucks, and Berber is a friendly cat who often enjoyed Apoinsettia's presence.
Dollop's Mother - In which a random calico kitten would appear that would be referred to as Dollop. Many theories stem as to where she came from and who her mother could be, stating it could be the same elusive mom that gave birth to Saffron. Apoinsettia also said he saw a new calico cat across the street from where Dollop was found; who had no notch. Some theories even suggest Dollop could be a part of the Saplings although it's considered the least likely, as it would mean Dollop would travel quite a distance. Despite the theories of where Dollop came from, Dollop is in safe hands as she has since been adopted.
Fractious Fathers - This theory relates to the Forrest and the Saplings, and Nazgul Is A Father theories furthermore suggesting that since Forrest and Nazgul are both considered some of the most aggressive cats on the channel, the cat Scarfield might soon by a father since he displays a similar attitude. There is no evidence other than comical speculation to suggest this, however.
Tier 5 (Insane)
Berbette / Berber - In which it's believed the kitten Berbette is some sort of distant relative of Berber's, thus giving Apoinsettia extra motivation to save the sickly kitten in honor of the channel's old friend. Although this theory is good as an idea, there is little evidence to suggest this as Berber was neutered and vanished months before Berbette and the Fleababies were discovered. The main belief is that the mother, Tarantula, was some sort of relative of Berber's that strictly stayed away from the subcolonies nearby for years until she needed to find a safe place to give birth.
Man With A Mortgage = Vlad - In which Apo himself suggests that Man With A Mortgage could theoretically be the same Vlad that once went missing in the Alley colony around 2 years before MWAM was discovered. Althought it is a small journey for him and would mean Vlad passed the Transformer and Trucks subcolony for some reason to call another place home, it would not make sense for him to leave his home after being fed. Although, it is typical for unneutered males to wander in search of a mate. This theory is further weakened by the fact that Vlad had a more grumpy face in the ancient clips and pictures he was seen in, whilst Man With A Mortgage has a younger face with large eyes, although this may be since MWAM is only seen at night. Regardless, the similarities between the two is perplexing as both were Russian Blues who were unneutered males in nearby areas, thus sparking a potential second theory that if MWAM is not Vlad, he must be some sort of Newcomer that fled before ever being discovered years back.
Hideaway Cameo Cat (Disproven) - A complex theory in which the fluffy white and grey tabby that is an unneutered male in the Hideaway subcolony is the same cat that appeared in a stream in the Straightaway nearly a year prior. This is the same cat that Apoinsettia attributes to the fur found by Feeder G in the Snow Leopard Lives theory. If the Hideaway Cameo Cat theory is true; it may indicate that Snow Leopard truly passed away as this Cameo cat is still alive in the Hideaway. He has even been attributed to being a potential father for Hopscotch, Nyx, or Baby Stanley but would mean maybe the kittens took after their mother, as none have longhair.
This theory, after review of the cat discovered months prior is not the same cat as the longhair cat in the Hideaway, which may further prove the Snow Leopard Lives theory.
Stowaway Returns - An unlikely theory in which the cat Stowaway is expected to return to her home near the Trash subcolony, after she climbed into a firetruck and hopped out in some unspecified location. The only extent that this theory stays true is that people go out and find her, to which Apoinsettia has volunteered, but sadly it is not specified where the cat left off. Althought the theory is one of the most unlikely on the channel, it sheds light to a sense of hope Stowaway is out there.
Ice Cream Truck Is Gherkin's Father - An incredible theory that suggests that newly named Ice Cream Truck could be the direct father of the random kitten Gherkin who was found in the Loop subcolony. This theory was suggested by Pepperjam and has credibility considering Ice Cream Truck appeared out of nowhere, is an unneutered male, and has a similar cow cat appearance as Gherkin. Apo has even suggest that have similar face shapes.
Tier 6 (Fake)
Nazgul Is the Good Guy - this theory is false on every level imaginable.
McLake Cloning Theory - In which the many cats by the Mclake subcolonies that all share a very similar resemblance upon discovery are secretly all products of a cloning factory located somewhere in the area that produces the cats to find the perfect specimen, thus explaining their near identical figures.
