Ambush
History and Lore
Ambush is an Oldtimer of the Fence subcolony, and has seemingly been here for a good amount of time. They were named after their preference of hiding in vegetation and then seemingly appearing out of nowhere. This name still holds true even years since her first appearance, as she will also appear at random and different times.
Ambush had never successfully been gendered until she was finally seen to be a female after knowing her for years.
Ambush would have a scare in which she had briefly refused to eat or appear on streams and was likely having teeth concerns has prior to this phase she was seen having trouble chewing. After her brief hiatus, she would appear to have an even pickier diet before resorting to other easier foods and going back to her old self.
Ambush would feature in a Tiktok on Apoinsettia's channel in which it was stated Ambush is among the pickiest cats on the channel, and typically only eats Tikicat. This would lead to the brand Tikicat sending in multiple cases of food for Ambush to enjoy.
Personality
Ambush is often described as an odd cat, as they can be very vocal and repeatedly meows at great lengths, but when offered food, leaves. Ambush will often return to the food and start eating after initially rejecting the food or may need another whole plate of food. It's been learned that Ambush seems to have developed a particular preference to Tiki Cat brand wet food. While rejecting plate after plate of other brands, Ambush will react drastically differently when offered a Tiki Cat flavor. After some time, Ambush then moved on to prefer Earthbound Organics cat food.
Most cats in the alley tend to be friendly due to knowing Apoinsettia for an extensive period of time, but when Ambush is pet they instantly avoid it, or flee. They often are slow moving, and seemingly aren't in a rush to go anywhere. Ambush will still get close to Apoinsettia and the viewers and even other individuals, but changes upon contact.
Appearance
Ambush is a longhair, which is often rare for stray cats. The only other longhair cats in this location are Swiffer and Beauty. Ambush is a silver tabby as evident by their forehead markings, but carries no sign of markings throughout their body, except for their arms. They have light green eyes, and fluff emerge from their ear.
Random Facts
- Apoinsettia was told by feeders of a grey cat that prefers dry food over wet food, and assumed for months this was Ambush due to their picky food behavior, but this may be in reference to Earl Grey instead.
